My passion for the Douro took me to Foz do Tua for its beauty and terroir. This first wine of mine attributes the title of this wine to the place — silkscreen printing on the label.
Vineyard
Single vineyard approximately 20 years old. Low production and exclusively composed of indigenous Douro grape varieties, predominantly Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz.
Winemaking
The grapes were subjected to the traditional process of treading in a wine press, and were then vinified in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures. Malolactic fermentation took place in stainless steel vats, and then transferred to new 500-liter French oak barrels, where they remained for 17 months.
Bottling
Held on December 9, 2024: 2000 bottles of 750 ml and 30 bottles of 1500 ml.
Tasting Notes
Wine with a modern profile, displaying notes of black fruit (plum, blueberry, fig), supported by notes from barrel aging, with balsamic nuances that lend complexity and elegance to the whole.
Full-bodied, firm, mature palate with satiny tannins. Complex, persistent and very elegant finish. Reveals high aging potential.
Serving suggestion: between 16ºC and 18ºC.
