“The DouTua white wine comes from altitude, where the landscape meets the Douro and Tua rivers.”
— Jorge Guimarães
Vineyard
This wine is made from grapes grown on the Alijó plateau, where the vineyards are planted in granite and transitional soils. The average altitude of the estates is 550 m, which brings out the fresh and elegant character of the grape varieties at the heart of this wine: 80% Arinto, 15% Viosinho, and 5% Rabigato.
Winemaking
The grapes were hand-harvested into 20 kg boxes. They underwent direct pressing of whole grape bunches, followed by alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel vats. The goal was to preserve all the primary aromas of white fruit, supported on the palate by vibrant freshness and a mineral touch.
Bottling
On March 19, 2024, a total of 6,800 bottles of 750 ml were bottled.
Tasting Notes
Citrus and crystalline in colour. Aromas of pure fruit and vegetal character, with prominent notes of tropical passion fruit and citrus.
On the palate, it presents a broad and generous attack, highlighting the wine’s natural acidity and vibrant freshness. These are beautifully complemented by roundness and mouth volume, giving it great versatility for consumption. Ideal with fish dishes and white meats.
Recommended serving temperature: between 10 ºC and 12 ºC, in wide-bowled glasses.
