Vineyard

Single vineyard approximately 45 years old. Low-yielding and composed exclusively of native Douro grape varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz.

Winemaking

The grapes underwent the traditional foot treading process in lagares during the first 24 hours of phenolic extraction, followed by fermentation in stainless steel vats under controlled temperature and conditions.

Maturation

Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel. 70% of the blend aged in new 500 L French oak barrels for 20 months, while the remaining 30% aged in stainless steel for the same period.

Bottling

Bottled on December 9, 2024: 1,300 bottles of 750 ml.

Tasting Notes

Deep, concentrated ruby colour. The first impression is of intensity and fragrance, with notes of wild berries, forest and some spice. Barrel aging enhances the wine, adding richness and complexity, with hints of dark chocolate and clove.

Broad and full on the palate, with firm yet smooth tannins. Finishes long and persistent. A promising wine with great longevity, due to the excellent balance between complexity and elegance.

Immediately pleasurable, but ideal for cellaring. Recommended pairing with cured cheeses, charcuterie, rich red meats, and game.

Serving suggestion: Between 16ºC and 18ºC, with prior decanting.
